I have always loved Alexa Chung ever since I can remember and even more when she and Alex Turner were together, but then they broke up and it was all very sad. Alas, I still love them both and still feel like they belong together and will be at some point... in my imaginary world anyway. Before I begin. I would like to point out that I am currently suffering major Glastonbury blues - I had such a fantastic, therapeutic week where I feel like I've come home with a new fresh feeling on life. Even though I'm very sad and I feel very exhausted, it has been my favourite festival to date. I laughed a lot, I danced a lot and I drank a lot. I do want to do a post on it eventually but I currently can't even bring myself to watch highlights without wanting to sob - so that post will have to wait for a while... but yes, if you've never been before - Glastonbury IS the best festival in the world.
In the mean time let's cut back to normality: for this weeks Net-A-Porter issue of The Edit (3rd July) I was very happy to see Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne gracing the front cover, in a very British friendship-forward road trip feel photo shoot. Being friends for ten years, it's interesting to see how a friendship can thrive still, even though both can lead such busy lives and live total opposite sides of the world. I know that to some people, Alexa may be someone who just ended up 'famous' for no real, genuine reason, but nonetheless I really do find her a big inspiration in my life for more reasons than one. I've already been within four metres of her, three times within the past year so maybe one day I'll be standing right next to her... (I can dream!)
Anyway, here are a few of my favourite photo's from the shoot - click here to see the rest, read the interview and watch the video!
